Notes: Listed here are peaks of 500' rise or greater in the mid-section of the country where the terrain includes a lot of plains and prairies. All of the Midwest is included along with Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Highlands are found at the perimeter of the region, particularly the Black Hills, Ozarks, and Superior Upland. Scattered across the region are other hills that may provide interesting hikes if you live nearby or are traveling by on your way to more lofty peaks.
