For this purpose, the extent of the Wind River Range is defined as the area enclosed by the following major roadways:
US 287 from Lander to Dubois; Union Pass Road and Green River Lakes Road from Dubois to Cora; US 191 from Cora to Boulder; Wyoming 353, Big Sandy Elkhorn Road, and Lander Cutoff Road from Boulder to WY 28; and and WY 28 over South Pass back to Lander.
