It is the first good road heading east after kenosha pass, at the bottom of the big hill, a mile or so before the town of Jefferson.

I don't believe there is a slow person on the list, but thats all relative I guess.

I am going to give an estimate of 18 hours to complete this hike. That would bring us back to the trailhead at 11:30 Saturday night.

thats figuring more towards the long side, hopefully we can finish quicker.

Is any one planning on hanging out around camp while the group hikes? My wife would like to come along and camp but she is not especially excited about doing this big hike. I was curious if there would be others hanging around camp and maybe doing a shorter day hike of sorts.

The only one I know of so far would be Dave Hales sister, but they are leaving Sat. afternoon. I'll put you in email contact with Dave.

hey Derrill, Dave Hale is doing about half the hike or less then returning to camp, that might be an option for your wife?

Jeff Valerie reports beautiful fall foliage on S. Twin Cone, he was there yesterday. No we won't be out of fall color range, its actually fairly spectacular up there, and a nice change from the common Aspen viewing.

How many peaks total for the entire group? I come up with 91, but I'm not sure what Jeff V and Dave Hales group did on the return.

Thoughts for next one of these...

1) Probably shouldn't have "LOJ" in the title if the majority of folks attending/discussing aren't using this site - no offense.

2) Do we set out with a potential to destroy past records relating to ranked peaks (area/route has enough potential peaks to do so)?
One place I'm looking at is Tin Cup Pass south to Hancock Pass (Plus "Hancock Peak"). This is 13 ranked in 23 miles, 11k gain. Something similar is possible from Hermit Pass. Then there's the Tarryall Traverse, going from near Long Gulch TH to Spruce Grove - 16 ranked in 31.5 miles, 12k gain.

3) How important is it for peaks to be non-repeats for most of the group (determines venues)? I don't think I'd want to do the same set of peaks as this last time at least.
