Thanks, John for a partial list of VA prominences. It will be interesting to check the prominence of large or small peaks where we are vacationing or checking out mountain real estate. For example, a 2009 realtor listing offered Beamer Knob as the highest peak in Carroll County. The property has a great view, but is not among the top 3 peaks in the county. But your Carroll list shows the property as a solid 600' prominence, the second highest in the county.

We will use this to tackle some of the Rockingham County prominences during a spring vacation to Massanutten Resort. We have done a walkup from our villa to 400' prominent Massanutten Peak at the top of the ski slope. This year we will tackle other prominences from Shenandoah Park in the east end to the boundary with West Virginia.

Do you have any plans to tackle any other states in the southern Appalachians? Or maybe you can develop a sublist for a strip buffer along the long stretch of the Appalachian Trail in Virginia. A sublist for the Blue Ridge parkway vicinity would also be interesting.

Virginia is complete (see changed link above). I'll be working on TN and NC after finishing up Hawaii.
