Pillars/Spires/Towers separate sub-list?

From the other thread, how about a list of these or a filter to get to them?

I hesitate with this a bit because the GNIS classification is not as consistent as we'd like, for example, Castle Rock in Golden is listed as a pillar whereas Lizard Head is not. Jackson Monument, a man-made feature in Clear Creek county, is listed as pillar. Spires are not a category of GNIS features, and Towers are man-made structures.

Thus, any list has to be a consensus of what we think a spire/pillar/tower is. Could get highly subjective, and probably not comprehensive.

Hmm.. as usual, many things obscure what originally seems a bright idea.

Yeah, Castle Rock in Golden is definitely not a spire. More like a large outcropping. I guess we'd have to come up with some solid definitions first before we could apply them to formations.
