Routes for Blue Mountain, 6930, and 7335 in Pinewood Lake.

I've been looking pretty hard at this quad for a few days now and I'm coming up with blanks. I'm okay with 'not seeing' posted signs seeing as how i've climbed milner mountain alright. I've noticed there are quite a few names on these lists and was just wondering how other people climbed these 3.

I figured they will probably be climbed at the same time as 6300, 6227, 7383 and Horsetooth Mountain just to save on having to pay the larimer county open space fee on several days.

Hi Brandon,

Blue and 6930 go well by moonlight from the Ponderosa Hill road to the south. Parking is a definite issue though. My wife dropped us off for these and shopped while we climbed each of them. You may wish to bike in to the area instead for a daylight hike. The roads are signed, but the mountains are not from this direction. 7335 has a house directly on the summit. Just drive right up their driveway and hope that no one is home....... You could also camp at Pinewood Lake CG and hike these from there, but I have seen many law enforcement vehicles in this area. Good luck and enjoy!

Try sending PMs to people on the board here first instead of posting messages when access is a question. 7335 doesn't need to be part of the equation (try driving up in winter - no one should be home), however 7383 could possibly be a vital part. The mystery of figuring these things out/obtaining permission is half the fun and can be rewarding, but "theoretically" from the fee area and public trailhead at Pinewood lake:

One thing to avoid is hiking from the obvious pass N of Bald Mtn. I once got a citation there for pulling off the road and getting out of my vehicle for a few minutes to check out the views. That was like 7 years ago, hopefully park law enforcement is not as heavy handed these days.

Thanks guys and well noted John.

Luke, I figured as much. Full moon hikes are fun anyways here on the front range.

I climbed Blue Mountain last winter. As I recall it was a weekday, I parked on a pullout on one of those roads about a mile and a half west of the peak. I just bushwhacked across very open country and went up the obvious steep gully on the Northwest side of the mountain. I don't recall seeing any signage, I honestly didn't even know access was an issue with Blue.

Hey Haikudude. I finally completed these and had no issues what so ever. I walked up the road to 7335 and even had a local resident wave to me. *shrug* Sometimes you never know what you are going to find up there . :D
