I think the alternative name should read "Montara" not "Montana"

Looks to me like this peak is called "Scarper" Peak and I believe the name "Montara" Mountain should be the alternative name for North Peak, not Scarper. The quads, the state beach, the nearby town, point, lighthouse, and nearby peak called Montara Knob, are all "Montara".

GNIS lists it as Scarpet, but I'll change it.

Looks like they have a Scarpet at the coordinates in question and then a Scarper as well with no coordinates. I asked a local about it on Sunday and when I said Scarpet, he asked if I meant Scarper, which is why checked into it.

I'll see what the survey marker(s) say(s) when I'm in that area next with a peak bagging slot in my schedule.

It looks like Scarper Peak is now on public land thanks to the efforts of the Peninsula Open Space Trust
