Since John is busy with Lidar, etc., I thought I'd throw this on the forum to see if I get any input.
I'm trying to figure out the placement of summit pins for the following two "peaks."
Virgin Peak Ridge: https://listsofjohn.com/peak/42433
South Virgin Peak Ridge: https://listsofjohn.com/peak/43876
Virgin Peak Ridge runs generally west-east for several miles. The highest point along that ridge is the Virgin Peak summit.
South Virgin Peak Ridge runs south from Virgin Peak Ridge, starting at Virgin BM.
To me, it seems like Virgin Peak's summit is also the summit of Virgin Peak Ridge. While Virgin BM is the summit of South Virgin Peak Ridge.
But LOJ has Virgin BM as the summit of Virgin Peak Ridge. And a high point well south of Virgin BM as the summit of South Virgin Peak Ridge. (Furthermore, I don't know why that summit pin is on the 2215 meter high point not on the 2218 meter high point south of it).
Can anyone explain the rationale for these LOJ summit pin placements? Or is this a ?
