On the drive out to Iowa for Thanksgiving, we opted to make for slight diversion
North up to Cheyenne to stop at Nebraska's highpoint. Following Mapquest directions
proved that route-finding is not a problem confined solely to mountaineering. Perhaps
it is best to follow the guidebooks' advice first. In any event, after driving eleven
miles down State Line Road, we backtracked to I-80 and found the proper route from 8th street
in Pine Bluffs, WY. At the gate we saw the sign (on the right) and paid the $2 fee per person.
There was an interesting cattle guard made from hoses at the entrance gate which I didn't find to be
very car paint-friendly.
