County Line 4,476' (Lea County Highpoint)
On the return drive to CO, I diverted to Southeastern New Mexico via 180 to Carlsbad from El Paso, driving obscure roads to reach the NW corner of the county near Caprock. There wasn't much to this one (note cairn in photo near roadside, though views of Sierra Blanca were interesting from the mesa shelf. This would be my '95 Tacoma's last great outing, as a deer took out my front end near Las Vegas on Hwy 84. With the battery smashed and fluid drained, I had to fill up gas with the engine running twice.
