| A trip out to Bergen Park had been on my to-do list for a while to stop by Coconuts and pick up some Barley Wine and Imperials. The peaks that made the most sense were Krinder and Jenkins, so I parked at the end of the road south of the east-west saddle between the two. Stealth wasn't necessary since few cars were parked in the neighborhood, but I tried to be as inconspicuous as possible. The hike up to the saddle was straight-forward and quick. I soon found on my way to Krinder that there is a road going all the way to the summit that did not appear on maps. This road arrives here from the north, and I followed it all the way to the highest ground a few paces north of the road. Several deer were visiting the summit as well. |

I soon returned on the road back to the saddle and was surprised how warm it was getting. On the left, Jenkins Peak is visible from the saddle. At my original cross-over at the wooden fence on the saddle, I stayed on the north side and followed it down to the lowest contour, and was soon ascending again. There were some icy patches of snow protected by the foliage that were slippery but avoidable. At the summit, the view of Mount Evans was dramatic, though not as much so as from Krinder Peak. The glass register (which was surprising to see) was smashed to bits.
