| Another Plains County Highpoint was in order with physical therapy for my knee still in the works. The drive out was brief, and the photo in Hiking Colorado's Summits was helpful in determining my parking location. The rise in the meadow was apparent, and a quick stroll brought me to the highest ground, where it looked like a medium-sized animal had burrowed a hole. The "rock" of Elbert Rock was scattered and bore little resemblance to a cairn. The weather had me wishing I were able to climb in the hills. Hopefully I will be charging up slopes again soon, as plains are becoming monotonous. | ![]() |
