 Updates (as of 09/13/04)

Please check out my other sections on the Main Page, as I am actively tackling other lists.
I have completed the Fourteeners after over four years of effort, with 3,000' absolute elevation gain for each one, with the ascent of Culebra Peak after obtaining special permission. It was a fabulous day as Ryan Schilling, Erin Burr, Dwight Sunwall, and I completed the 14ers together 09/11/04, joined by Kurt Traskos.

I finished the Crestone Group with a long hike up Kit Carson Mountain 07/17/04.
A trip to the Chicago Basin for 4th of July Weekend finished off the San Juans, with separate 3,000' ascents of Sunlight and Windom Peaks on 7/4 and Mount Eolus 7/5.
Snow in the air and on the ridge complicated the already difficult North Maroon Peak 06/26/04, and I thus completed the Elk Range fourteeners.
An airy solo adventure from Kilpacker Basin up El Diente Peak 06/12/04 leaves only the Chicago Basin group left in the San Juans.
An outing on the Southwest Ridge of Little Bear Peak 06/05/04 proved successful yet grueling. Ryan, Erin, Rex, Amy, Jeff Valliere, Jay, and I collaborated to check this monster off the list.
A return to Handies Peak for a proper 3,000' ascent was successful 05/31/04.
For all my other climbs this year and previous, go to the peak gallery here or view the LIST.
Sunlight It is impossible to fully describe the experiences one has climbing alpine peaks in words alone. In an attempt to present my experiences, I have compiled trip reports with pictures. These are found in order of ease of accessibility by date climbed, through links in the 'Peak Gallery' - pictures of peaks climbed are sorted by year and date, or by Range (links at the upper left of this page). I have finished the official and ranked lists, though I may be back for subpeaks in the future. After viewing the site, perhaps the answer to "Why I do it" will become more clear. Enjoy!Goat
