August 7, 1952

Charles Mahan was ascending on a snowfield when he slipped and broke his collarbone and cut his knee when he impacted the base. He was carried out by Park Rangers.

July 4, 1976

Jim Boicourt was found dead near the Y couloir with one crampon on and apparently had fallen while attempting to ascend it.

Lawrence Berman was ascending a snowslope above Spectacle Lakes when he slipped and fell 1200 feet to his death.

August 26, 2000

Larisa Watson was ascending the Blitzen Ridge route when she started a glissade and lost control, sliding 150 feet into the rocks at the base. She suffered cuts to the head and face and was rescued two days later.

Jeff Christensen, Rocky Mountain National Park Ranger, was on a routine patrol from Chapin Pass to Lawn when he fell to his death below the East Face near Spectacle Lakes.
