August 5, 1953

Robert Wade traversed a snowfield without an ice axe against the advice of more experienced members of the party. He sustained bruises from a fall while trying to avoid a boulder. He hiked out under his own power.

Walter Eidelloth had summited Windom and Sunlight before making his way toward Mount Eolus when he fell 1,000 feet to his death.
