September 2, 1951Dale Johnson fell 55 feet while climbing an unknown peak in the Needle Mountains. He spent the night while his partner summoned help from Silverton.Source: Accidents in North American Mountaineering, 1952 July 26, 1953Phyllis Anderson was rappelling from the saddle of Twin Tumbs and Peak 11 when a piton came out. She fell 30 feet and landed on her pack (that was on her back), then started to slide down a 30 degree snow slope above cliff faces. Her partner, Barry Bishop was able to grab the rope she was trailing and arrest the slide. He was at first unconscious and could not move well.
