Gladstone Peak Accidents



July 5, 1997

An unknown 23 year old male and his partner were swept in a wet slab avalanche, the first being carried 200 feet down and perishing from head injuries, while the partner fell only a short distance, suffering from bruises and cuts, able to hike out for help. The avalanche was instigated by rock fall triggered on the ridge.
