November 2, 1977

Edmund Hoffman III was swept away in an avalanche 1,500 feet down after turning back at the 13,700 foot level, dying from head injuries. His body was recovered two days later.

September 15, 1991

Erling C. Hansen, 69, was climbing his last fourteener when he separated from his party and fell an unknown distance to his death.

Susan Helm was with her 15 year old son when a rockslide severed her thigh. Her son went three miles for help, but she perished before rescuers arrived.

Robert McLane's body was discovered on the North Face after he had fallen an estimated 1000 feet to his death.

September 4, 1995

Sondra Hughes fell due to a loose handhold on the side opposite to Scott Ryan on the same day. Sondra and her husband were descending after a late-day failed attempt. From accident accounts, it seems most likely that a large boulder caused her death which dislodged during her fall.

June 16, 2006

Ron Deffenbaugh was descending a snowfield facing outward when his crampon caught and he slid 30 feet into rocks. He fractured his ankle and was rescued early the following morning.
