"I observed Park Co SAR on a rescue on Mt Democrat sometime in 2001, although I don't recall specifically when. A woman had fallen near the summit and suffered head and other injuries. A military bird (Blackhawk, I think) was brought in to evacuate the woman."Source: Emailed submission - Doug Shaw

Mr. Farish was hiking down the summit of Democrat toward Kite Lake when he lost his footing on slippery snow-covered talus. He fell 15 feet, sustaining a deep laceration on his elbow, and a puncture wound on his leg from his ice axe. He was able to hike out with assistance from his son and another hiker who helped stop the bleeding.Source: Summitpost.com
