Bob Redwine, Curt Dale, and his son Chris were on their way over Elkhead Pass from Missouri Gulch to reach their cached vehicle at Pine Creek when an avalanche buried them at the 12,800 foot level of the Belford/Missouri saddle. Curt was unable to extricate himself, but was pulled out after 15 minutes. Unfortunately, he did not survive through the night.Source: geosurvey.state.co.us/avalanche
